Facebook Gets It WRONG Big Style

Have You got a Facebook Business Fan Page? I would go and check just in case! Did you know that ANY Tom, Dick or Harry can complain and it will be taken down WITHOUT You being able to defend it in the first instance!

Here is a copy of an email I sent to Facebook regarding my thoughts on SiteSell's Fan Page removal.

Bear this in mind if you have a Fan Page on Facebook. Anyone has the right to complain about it and you will be removed without being able to defend your status first.

My email to Facebook ...

"Dear Facebook,

I an utterly astounded by the removal of SiteSell's Facebook fan page. Many of us mostly SBI! website owners cannot believe this has happened.

I myself have 3 SiteSell (SBI!) websites and totally rely on them for my business today. I have had the pleasure of accepting work from SiteSell Inc as a designer and thoroughly agree with there ethos and the way they work.

If someone asked me which of today's international web businesses would you recommend as a mentor or business model then it would have to be SiteSell Inc of Canada.

This is a company many thousands of people around the globe owe their livelihoods to because of their second to none business building package. This company frowns upon breaches of copyright and teaches and promotes against it in it's Business Building Action Guide. I therefore cannot believe this infringement to be true.

I too have fan pages for my business and hope I would get a chance to answer any infringement complaints before my page is trashed without notice. I think the approach you have taken with SiteSell is totally out of order and certainly frowned upon in the corporate world I have experience of..

Really, what is the point of having a platform on Facebook like a Business fan page if it can be removed just because any Tom, Dick or Harry complains without the business concerned being able to defend itself.

I was a prolific contributor to SiteSell's Fan page and I am disgusted that they are being treated in this fashion.
